About

Acupuncture is steeped in history and traditional Chinese medicine dates back over 2000 years. Whilst acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is still a predominant treatment option in eastern hospitals, acupuncture is a fast paced developing treatment option in the western hemisphere with developing scientific research proving its efficacy in the treatment of disease. The NICE 'National Institute of Clinical Excellence' have identified its clinical benefits by recommending acupuncture as an effective treatment option in chronic pain management, back pain, headaches and migraines.

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles to specific points on your body.

These points may correspond with the problem area but may also be placed at more distal points of the body which correspond with specific organs of the body with the aim of treating the root of illness.

The needle stimulation will look to promote the circulation of blood and Qi (energy) to the local area, promoting healing and harmony of the body's organs and functions. Acupuncture and other adjunct TCM therapies can assist in the treatment of many conditions. Markfield Acupuncture Clinic was founded by Hayley Curd who is fully registered with the British Acupuncture Council ensuring that the standard of care and skill is of the highest standard.
